Our vision is to provide a safe place for 5th and 6th graders in Newton to:

• Build meaningful community WITH each other

• Build a deeper sense of belonging TO our town

• Build a stronger future FOR our town

Later@ThePorch is the after school program that was the catalyst for the Newton initiative of So Shine.  We meet every day USD 373 - Newton Public Schools is in session to provide a safe place for 5th and 6th graders in our community.  Not only do we provide a safe place, but we provide a free snack, a cup of cool water, and mentor volunteers to invest into the next generation of leaders in our town.
